Summary:
ARGUS Additive Plastics Group said goodbye to paper chaos: digital workflows replaced time-consuming manual processes. The new solution ensures clear structures and delivers noticeable time savings – a step that truly makes an impact.
“Finally getting rid of all that paper!” That was the goal of Stefanie Becker, responsible for process optimization and export control officer at ARGUS Additive Plastics GmbH, before the company began implementing digital business processes.
Less paper and significant time savings – many software vendors promise this on their websites. But is it just a marketing slogan or reality?
ARGUS Additive Plastics GmbH specializes in producing plastic masterbatches for the processing industry. Its focus: making plastics more durable to ensure long-term benefits while contributing to environmental protection.
Based in Büren, the company offers solutions mainly for films, nonwoven fabrics, filaments/tapes, pipes, sheets and profiles, artificial turf, and injection molding. Typical day-to-day processes include recipe creation or modification – previously managed with printed PDF documents and accompanied by high paper volumes.
“A lot of paper was passed from one department to another. That always took a lot of time – we really wanted to simplify things,” recalls Stefanie Becker.
ARGUS first came into contact with Yaveon back in 2016 while looking for a new ERP system. The company spoke with several ERP providers – but Yaveon won. Why?
“Presales and our sales representative really convinced us. The conversations were very open. It was always made clear what was possible – and what wasn’t. On a personal level, it was just a great fit,” says Becker.
Since the successful ERP project, ARGUS has remained in close contact with Yaveon consultants. “Our project manager then drew our attention to the possibility of automating workflows with WEBCON.”
WEBCON BPS is a low-code software from WEBCON and enables the intuitive design of digital workflows. As a partner solution, WEBCON BPS is firmly embedded in Yaveon’s portfolio. With it, a wide range of business processes can be digitalized and simplified.
Typical examples include:
With WEBCON BPS, many gaps in business processes can be closed – gaps that existing standard software doesn’t cover. Because the solution is based on templates, processes can be digitalized quickly and easily.
The project began with a workshop where a prototype of the future workflow was presented. During the implementation, this prototype was further developed into a complete solution and put into operation.
“The implementation phase was absolutely relaxed and simple. Our consultant was on-site for two days, showed us everything, and it just ran smoothly – exactly how we’ve come to expect projects with Yaveon to be,” Becker describes.
Thanks to the WEBCON solution, all previously manual, paper-based recipe cycles are now handled digitally. Once a document is initiated, the next responsible employee automatically receives a workflow task. Integrated escalation management sends reminders if tasks remain open.
A particular advantage for ARGUS: the WEBCON solution was connected directly to the company’s ERP and document management system. Previously, the final document had to be printed and filed in a folder – now it can be transferred directly from WEBCON into the DMS, a partner solution from d.velop AG in Yaveon’s portfolio. d.velop specializes in providing reliable, easy-to-use DMS solutions.
A workflow solution like WEBCON offers even greater potential – nearly any type of process can be digitalized.
“Process digitalization is a continuous journey for us. We digitalize everything step by step that involves a circulation. WEBCON is very easy to use, so we do all of this ourselves. Anyone familiar with data structures and basic programming commands can handle it easily,” says Becker.
And the decisive question: has WEBCON delivered on Becker’s wish to reduce paper?
“Yes – we definitely use much less paper now. Plus, we save time. Forms are much easier to fill out, and if a task gets overlooked, the system automatically reminds the responsible employee,” Becker confirms.
Less paper chaos and time savings – they may sound like marketing slogans. But with WEBCON, they are realistic goals that truly can be achieved.
